About the event
Your skin has a microbiome. It has a barrier function. It has an inflammatory response that's directly connected to your stress physiology. Most skincare addresses none of this; it addresses how your skin looks in the mirror rather than what's actually happening at the cellular level. This class starts there.
We cover the skin microbiome research, what compromised barrier function actually means clinically, and what the evidence shows about specific botanical compounds for acne, rosacea, and inflammatory skin conditions. Then you'll formulate two products to nourish and protect your skin:
Skin barrier balm: a rich targeted balm for compromised skin anywhere on the body. Eczema patches, dry cracked areas, reactive skin. Calendula and plantain-forward, beeswax base, the repair go-to.
Body treatment oil: lighter than the balm, for daily use over larger areas. Hibiscus and chamomile-forward, the anti-inflammatory and barrier support go-to. Applied to damp skin after bathing over affected or reactive areas.
You'll make both in 90 minutes and leave knowing exactly why every ingredient is there and what it's doing on your skin.
